This page is a listing of animals that are available for adoption by their current owner. For a variety of reasons, many owners are no longer able to keep their pets and are forced to seek new homes for them.

Please note that the animals listed on this page are not a part of our rescue, and are for adoption directly by their owner. Please take care when bringing new animals into your home and take the time to get to know them and their medical history, and follow quarantine proceedures when adding a new animal to your life. If you are interested in adopting an animal on this page, please contact the owner listed.
Princess Leiah the Red Rex Bunny Needs a Home!

Names: Princess Leiah
Breed: Red Rex (Red with White Belly)
Age: 5+ Years Old
Spayed/Neutered?: Yes
Adoption Fee: $55.00 Donation to North Star Rescue
Special Placement: Adult Only Home, Home with No Cats, Home with No Dogs, Special Health Needs
Health: Special Health Needs: "Severe hip problems. Possibly other health issues but I can't afford any more vet diagnostics to find out what they are. Symptoms include: does not clean herself and requires daily grooming because of it. I've tested for parasites, cocsidia, and had full body X-Rays done and no specific problem could be found." "Leiah is an older "special needs" bunny with hip problems. She requires a lot of grooming time and has trouble getting in and out of a litter box. She needs a very quiet environment because she stresses easily. I was pushed into adopting her when I adopted my baby boy bunny (Han), but we are not a good fit, I don't have the time to give her all the special attention she needs, and my house is too active and noisy for her. She is NOT a bunny that can roam freely about the house because of her hip problems she could hurt herself and will not be able to make it back to (or into) a litter box. I have to keep her confined to an Xpen lined with towels for play time."
Personality Notes from Owner: "Sweet and snuggly, likes to sit in laps and be petted. Loves to drag and push things around her X-Pen. Very much the "Queen Bee", she gets very insulted when you touch her toys and may go to a corner and pout about while glaring at you (its actually very cute)."
Additional Notes from Owner: "I love this bunny and have grown very attached so I would like the new owner to agree to bring her back to me if the adoption doesn't work, rather than take her to a shelter. I would also make myself available to "bunny sit" her."
