Adoption Locations & Hours

North Star Rescue is a network of multiple foster homes and adoption outposts spread all over the California Bay Area. We are based out of Santa Rosa, CA in the North Bay Area.

North Star Rescue's main foster home in Santa Rosa is where the administration and primary adoption services for North Star Rescue are based. In additional to adoption appointments, the main foster home also provides boarding services and one-on-one consultations for pet owners with care, behavioral or health questions.

Owners surrendering animals also must bring them to North Star Rescue's main foster home, after submitting an approved surrender request, for evaluation and acceptance into the rescue program.

Andy's Pet Shop fosters a variety of adoptable animals from North Star Rescue that can be visited any time during store hours. Andy's regularly features adoptable Chinchillas, Guinea Pigs, Rats, Syrian Hamsters, Dwarf Hamsters and Mice for adoption from North Star Rescue. Andy's Pet Shop also features a variety of other adoptable animals from other rescue groups, including Rabbits, Cats, Kittens, Dogs, Puppies, Fish, Reptiles, and a variety of Companion Bird Species.
